Our Story
Ruby's Caboose Community Collective was founded from love, resilience, and remembrance. Inspired by Ruby — a woman whose kindness and strength touched everyone she met. Our mission is to honor her legacy by creating spaces where no one feels unseen, hungry, or alone.
Our Beginning
We're starting with a community food pantry — open evenings and weekends to make healthy food more accessible.
Our Growth
Next, we'll expand into garden workshops that teach families how to grow their own food. A future "swap day care" program will let participants earn childcare hours by volunteering at events or in the garden.
Our Dream
Our dream is to build a community hub on shared land — hosting pay-what-you-can meals, local vendor markets, family events, and garden education. Ruby's Caboose will be a place of connection, nourishment, and belonging.
What We Do
Food Access
Pay-what-you-can community meals, donated food pickups, and pantry support. We feed neighbors with dignity and no barriers.
Family & Garden
Workshops
Hands-on garden classes for families, teaching small-plot growing, food confidence, and shared learning. As we grow, we'll offer garden workshops teaching families how to grow their own food, care for the land, and cook what they harvest.
Community Connection
Weekend gatherings, volunteer events, and partnerships that help people build relationships and support one another.
How to Help
Volunteer
Help host meals, support the pantry or lend a hand.
Partner with Us
We love collaborating with schools, PTAs, local businesses, and community groups to expand access to food and care.
